Chris Christie goes after our water and air

Below is an email from Barbara Buono, the New Jersey Senate Majority Leader, who created a petition at SignOn.org that is getting a lot of attention and may be of interest to people in your area.
Dear New Jersey MoveOn member,
Governor Chris Christie has proposed a sweeping attack on the laws that protect New Jersey's air, land, and water.

Gov. Christie's proposed new Department of Environmental Protection "waiver rule" would allow companies to circumvent over 100 important environmental guidelines. To stop this attack on our environment, we must act now.

Last week, I introduced a resolution holding these proposed rules inconsistent with the law's intent. Simply put, if the Legislature passes my measure, Governor Christie's waiver rule will be on its way to defeat.

But to convince my fellow legislators to vote to stop Governor Christie's attack on the environment, I need New Jerseyans to speak out. That's why I created a petition on SignOn.org, which says:
Say no to Chris Christie's plan to let big polluters ruin our water, air and land. Say yes to a clean environment.
Will you sign the petition? Click here to add your name, and then pass it along to your friends:

Crumb on the Famous and Infamous, Part Two

The Official R.Crumb Site has just posted the second part of an exclusive interview with Robert Crumb, voicing his opinions on a list of celebrities posed by Wildwood Serigraphs' Alex Wood. Alex explains, "Over the years, talking with Robert about many different things, I've been surprised by some of the things he likes and dislikes. We all know he loves old music from the early part of the last century, and doesn't like rock music. But then he says he likes Tommy James and the Shondells, and Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs? So in a continuing discussion in September, 2011, I asked his opinion on a list of people in the news past and present."
