Dec 21 2010 Lunar Eclipse

Would have been nice to see live, but four hours in the middle of the cold night would not have been fun.

join me in helping the Republicans end US involvement in war

I just submitted the following idea at http://republicanwhip.house.gov/YouCut/YourIdea.htm

Stop funding weapons of mass destruction and other weapons that kill humans. The US Government should not be in the business of taking lives overseas. This would save 100's of billions of dollars and allow most Americans to sleep better at night knowing they were not responsible for the death of people who have never set foot on the soil of the USA.

If enough of us submit the same idea, maybe they will feature it on their web site (yeah right)
Worth a shot - working with the enemy ;~}
Well, it made me feel better.

Feel free to submit any other billion dollar saving idea there.

wiggly world

A Scientist Takes On Gravity

 . . .

He made his first big splash as a graduate student when he invented Verlinde Algebra and the Verlinde formula, which are important in string theory, the so-called theory of everything, which posits that the world is made of tiny wriggling strings.

Should we clue him in to the theory that all dogs are named Rudy?

I think there's a song to be written in there

Widow lives with corpses of husband, twin

The Associated Press July 6 2010 WYALUSING, Pa.
The 91-year-old widow lived by herself in a tumbledown house on a desolate country road. But she wasn't alone, not really, not as long as she could visit her husband and twin sister.

why we cried when Jerry Garcia died

When Jerry Garcia died, he woke up and found himself on a stage on which a number of instruments were set up.
A door offstage opened and in walked Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, John Lennon, Otis Redding and Buddy Holly.

Each musician picked up his favorite instrument and began tuning up.

Jerry walked up to Jimi and said, "Man, so this is what heaven is like."

Jimi looked at him and said, "Heaven? You think this is heaven?"

At that moment, Karen Carpenter walked in, took her seat behind the drums, and called out,
"Okay guys, 'Close to You.' One, two, three, four!"

About this video:
"This video contains the songs "So Fresh", "That's Good", "Uncontrollable Urge", and "Gates of Steel". This was an excellent show and the band played admirably despite the chill. As you can see they handed out Energy Domes to most of the crowd."
